RUSH WEEK: February 1st - 7th.
Monday, Feb. 1st: “Smoker: Meet & Greet w/ the chapter & Dr. King”, 7PM choir room.
Tuesday, Feb. 2nd: Wind Ensemble concert, 7:15 PM
Wednesday, Feb. 3rd: Dodgeball, HPE, 8PM.
Thursday, Feb. 4th: Bowling, 6:45PM
Friday, Feb. 5th: Brotherhood night, Wood Forest apartments, time TBA
Saturday, Feb. 6th: BID DINNER, very important, Jalapeno Tree, 1PM
Sunday, Feb. 7th: Pinning (in the event you receive a bid), music building, 3PM
The Rush Week of Phi Mu Alpha is a period that is designed to help prospective and brothers to become more acquainted. Through a series of musical and social events, brothers and prospective members are able to meet and get to know each other.
All participants of the rush week activities are considered for probationary membership and at the conclusion of the rush period invitations are sent to prospective members offered probationary membership.
“Ten years ago when Father Mills started a little club of male students at the New England Conservatory in Boston, he sought not the musician in the institution, but the man in the musician. No such question was put as, ‘How well can you sing, young man?’ or, ‘What can you play, sir?’ but, ‘Come on boys, let’s get together!’
ELIGIBILITY
- Must be a male at least 18 years of age and enrolled within the sanctioning university.
- Must attend at least one official rush event.
- Must have a cumulative GPA of at least 2.0 unless rushing in the first semester of attendance.
HAZING POLICY
Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity of America, Inc., the Mu Xi Chapter, Stephen F. Austin State University and the School of Music are firmly against the use of hazing and take the matter very seriously. If you ever think you are being hazed in any way, please talk to us first before going to the powers that be.
